Always annoying

There are just certain things in this world that I could not care less about.  And I usually don't understand why people are over the moon about those things.  Things I would prefer not to hear about ever again include...

-Katy Perry.  I will admit I liked that song about kissing a girl when it came out, but now she is just plain obnoxious to me.  I don't think she can sing very well and she always has the dumbest outfits on.  It's not fashion genius, it's the lack of having someone to tell her that wearing a carnival dress is not ok.  Oh and I hate her latest song, 'California Gurls'.  It's definitely going to be everywhere this summer because it has that fun, party beat, but the lyrics are so clichéd it's not even cute anymore: California girls / We're unforgettable / Daisy Dukes / Bikinis on top / Sun-kissed skin / So hot / will melt your popsicle / California girls / We're undeniable / Fine, fresh, fierce / We got it on lock / West coast represent / Now put your hands up.  I just think everyone else has written a song about L.A. girls before and it's just contrived.  She just bothers me, end of story.

-Most t.v. shows (that develop an obsession-crazed audience who always talk about it) like House, Hereos, Lost, Glee, Grey's Anatomy.  I have seen bits and pieces of almost every show I've listed and I guess I can see why people like them, but I'm talking about the people who obsessively write on Facebook or whatever about the latest episode, or waiting for the next season to come out on DVD.  I do have a handful of shows I absolutely love (the Office, 30 Rock, Arrested Development, Will & Grace...you know, good shows, ha), but usually once the tv goes off, my life resumes.  I just simply don't care if someone is super psyched for Glee (I have heard it's good and I might consider watching it, but it's everywhere right now & I just don't have the time or patience to get invested in it) or that guy's life is ruined now that Lost is over.  Spare me.

-Maybe I am just sick of Facebook, since that's where a lot of my anger is harnessed at.  Well, when you have 18 friends in a row ALL talk about how 'awesome' Iron Man 2 was (gag, you could not pay me to see it) for 48 straight hours, it completely turns me off from the subject at hand.  Ok, maybe I'll change my update crap to only like, 5 people.  5 people who don't annoy the living daylights out of me...

-Sarah Palin & co., I mean family.  I think she is a complete moron who has no right being in the public spotlight so much.  Her daughter Bristol or Bristin or whatever annoys the hell out of me, ugh!  She did a photo shoot with her son and talked about 'how tough' it is to be a single, teenaged mom.  Give me a break, her family has money from the huge publicity they've received in the last few years.  I simply don't buy it.  Have you seen that PSA she did?  It just rubbed me the wrong way.  How dumb can you be to get pregnant while your mom is running as potential Vice President who is hands-down for abstinence only?  I will try not to be long-winded about her mom, but boy is she incompetent.  What bothers me is how she seems to be against not only progressive ideas, but progress in general.  She is the opposite of a feminist and I will not tolerate her being in charge of this country.  I will move to another country, who's got it right.  Leading me into my next bullet of frustration..

-Talk about how America is #1 on lots of things--healthcare, education, etc., when we actually are not.  Take for instance, this list about healthcare and the countries ranked from first to last.  Where is the U.S. on that list, you wonder?  Oh, of course, #1, U.S.A!  NUMBER ONE!  Yeah, no.  Try thirty-seven, according to the W.H.O.'s last report.  The U.S.'s health care system is worse than countries such as Chile, Dominica, Costa Rica, Morocco.  We are slightly better than Slovenia, Cuba and Brunei.  I don't know, I heard about this when I was a senior in high school and from then on, I was also really annoyed/skeptical when people talked about how America is number #1 in everything.  It's just simply not true.  Those people are willingly ignorant and it is just disgusting.

-How companies are going green because it's cool.  Those Wal-Mart commercials that talk about how they are loading up the trucks fuller & driving more efficient routes now.  Because they couldn't .. do that .. before?  Or how Starbucks food is all now without preservatives and whatnot - thanks for putting crap in the food the last several years only to change now that it's cool to be green & healthy?  I don't know, that just bothers me.  I guess I'm glad that they are doing something, but it's for the wrong reason.

-'Artistic' wedding pictures.  It seems to be the latest thing with every aspiring photographer to take close-up pictures of the lights or food, with the bride & groom in the background.  Like this one.  I don't know, it just irritates me.  We didn't have professional photographers for our wedding--I just told my best friends to take some good shots of me and Zak, and we got a ton of great pictures.  Sometimes I'll see a picture or two that I wish we had done, but it's not a big deal.  But I figure if people are paying a ton of money for a photographer, wouldn't they want actual pictures of themselves and not the lamp that's in focus instead of them?  It's just so over the top and pretentious and I think they mostly suck.  I guess this also represents my feelings of how everything thinks they are a fabulous photographer.  Don't get me wrong, one of my good friends, Sarah, is a great photographer.  But anyone can pick up a camera and take a picture, but that doesn't mean you are an Ansel Adams, chunky girl with side bangs!  I'm not a huge fan of photography, but I'm warming up to it.  I am just a more traditional art appreciator.  To me, not everyone can pick up a paint brush and create a masterpiece.  I will admit I am no artist, and that is why I can respect those who can do those things.  But I could've picked up the camera and took a picture of the strings of lights around the couple's head, and to me, that's not very creative.  Oh and I hate this picture as well.

Have I ranted enough?  My tummy says yes, so I'll stop for now.  There have just been some things in my head that have been frustrating me and I needed to get them out.
