A Small Moment, Necklace

Today I had Macy's Magic training from 8 - 11:30, and Zak had to switch his Thursday shift for today's.  So I went over to see him after my training and we had lunch together.  He then convinced me to get him the watch he's been obsessing about (and had transferred in so he could wear it at work) for his anniversary present.  Now, I was already going to get him the watch, but I wasn't planning on doing it today.  Well, either way it was still a great price (wife gets discount too, it seems?) and now Zak is playing video games while wearing his new favorite item.

Anyways.  He has been hinting and asking questions about some pieces in the store so as to get some ideas (anniversary, birthday, Christmas) and had me try on some pretty things.  He has good taste, but there were a few things I think he was surprised that I liked more than others.  For instance, I liked this small, simple yellow gold necklace that had a round pendant with a few little diamonds on the bottom.  I asked to try it on and he was like, 'No.  It's not big enough.  I'm not getting you that, it's too small.'  and it just made me smile.

I have benefited greatly from Zak's jobs that have involved jewelry.  And I love every piece he has gotten me and try to show my appreciation for them.  He takes care of me, and his current joke is that we should stock up so that when he's not working with jewelry, he'll buy me a sweater or something when we're older.

I just wanted to write that little memory down because it made me giggle.  Zak doesn't really care about jewelry, but when it comes to jewelry for me, he wants to get me the best he can.  And he does.  I'm a lucky girl with pretty, shiny things that I love.  :)
